African Drum and Dance Camp 2017

In 2016 we held our first Afro Foli Festival. For those of you that didn’t make it there was drum and dance workshops, kids entertainment and then a show during the evening. We had the Muso Foli Dance Troupe, Foli Kan, Highlife and of course Bassidi Kone, Adama Doumbouya and Yenenesh Nigusse all perform for the show. There was amazing food served by Homegrown across the road in the lane and then there was a decadent serving of treats, cakes and gourmet delicacies available for purchase throughout the show. It was definitely a sensory feast for sight, sound and taste.¬†Have you seen our new Afro Foli Festival video capturing all of this in action?!

We had considered going for round two in 2017 though since receiving all of our survey feedback it seems that 2017 calls for a Afro Foli Drum and Dance Camp where we can include all of the Afro Foli Festival goodness but do it over 3 days!! So, keep your eyes and ears peeled for upcoming information on this camp which will be held late July or early August. There will be international drum and dance artists, loads of workshops to choose from, good food and too much drumming and dancing… is that possible?!

Stay tuned in our quarterly newsletter or on our Facebook page.
