African Dancing in the Sunshine Coast..where is it?

The Sunshine Coast is filled with art, good coffee, the sun, festivals, music and culture. We have it all!  There is certainly no shortage of drummers and African drumming seems to pop its head up all over the place…. SO why is it that there is no regular African dance classes here on the coast? African drummers love to drum to dancers and African dancers love to dance to the drumming…SO…where is it? Where is this community of dancers on The Sunshine Coast? In Melbourne the African community is spilling with drummers and dancers. You wont see one without the other…. Community performance groups and local businesses in Melbourne have really created and celebrated the African culture with both music and dance in their creative projects.  How fantastic it would be to create a performance ensemble that incorporated both African drumming and dancing! So, with all this in mind..we have a little project in mind that will hopefully bring this element of African culture to LIFE here on the Sunshine Coast.  Stay tuned for some exciting news on this topic. -Rhythm Culture
