Mother Africa

The heartbeat of Africa pulsates throughout this jaw-dropping show as the musicians and artists articulate their passion and love for their homelands including Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Benin, Zimbabwe, and Guinea. This entertainment extravaganza combines the talents from nine African countries to provide the wonder, suspense and joy of Mother Africa.

Critics have described this theatrical event as “enthralling”, “a theatrical treasure”, “a feel good spectacular par excellence”, “solid entertainment”, “fun, fun, fun” and much more.

The show, seen by more than two million people worldwide, is a delight for the senses with items spun through the air, bodies contorted into mind-boggling shapes, astonishing acrobatics, performers balancing on other performers, percussionists beating up a storm of sound, and traditional dancers telling their own stories. The audience will be overwhelmed by the complexity and versatility of these world-class acts.

Masks, drums, beads, and amazing costumes and sets all bring forth the feel of authentic African traditions. Mother Africa is not just a traditional African show – it also has a take on the modern, fresh and dynamic culture of the new Africa. The show evokes passion and demands a response. Audiences are encouraged, prodded and charmed to actively respond rather than to simply watch a breath-taking spectacle.

“Rich in rhythm and robust in song, Mother Africa’s acrobats, musicians and dancers light up the stage in a powerful performance of stunning African artistry.” TheaterMania.com

“This jubilant 90-minute spectacle delivers one thrill after another.”
 Time Out, New York

“A swirl of colour and movement that keeps its audience clapping and cheering throughout…Mother Africa is a vibrant high-energy production…” The Gold Coast Bulletin
