Testimonials
Nathaniel and team, thank you for an absolutely fabulous session earlier today. Feedback has been phenomenal; – Prenaven Naidoo, Senior Principal Consultant, Infosys Consulting
Rhythm Culture was an exciting and hands on way for our junior secondary students to learn some drumming techniques, expand on their knowledge of rhythm and beat and practice improvisation, all while learning about the West African Culture. The team are so easy to work with and reliable and professional. Thanks Rhythm Culture, we will be booking you again in the future; – Carly Cook, Music Teacher, Mountain Creek State High School.
Rhythm Culture were fantastic. They were easy to deal with in the lead up to the event and arrived early for both performances. They sounded fantastic and were the right fit for our event. I would definitely use them again for future events." – Kathryn Whiting, Functions and Productions Manager IRONMAN Asia-Pacific
Everyone loved our drumming teacher. A beautiful energy, fun, smiley, and patient with all of us. We could have just kept on going all afternoon on the beach at Wategos, Byron Bay. We had such a ball. Something different to experience. Can’t wait to meet again. This is our new girl Tribe go to; -Kelli Boucher, Girls Weekend
“Nathaniel has an easy and natural rapport with Kindy children. As our first visitor for the year, he was warmly welcomed and the children seemed very comfortable with him and very enthusiastic to participate. His range of experiences are perfect for this age group. Aside from experiencing a glimpse of African culture and being immersed in his wonderful music, the children could not help but be inspired by Nathaniel’s passion for what he does. I highly recommend Rhythm Culture for any Kindergarten program.” – Carmel Desjardins, Director, Peregian Beach Community
Again, Rhythm Culture was a delight to use. Would highly recommend, and I will continue to use them for future events and activities. Thank you!; – Alison Binney, 50th Birthday Party

Many thanks for your great visit. I found you easily established a rapport with the children. You quickly gained their interest and attention. You related very well to them in an age appropriate way and lead them on an exciting movement and musical cultural storytelling adventure. Many of the children who are sometimes reticent to physically express themselves through dance really opened up, giving them more self confidence and hopefully another avenue by which to enjoy music, dance, culture and fitness. I would be very happy to have you visit again; – Lisa Dunn, Palmwoods Community Kindergarten
Nathaniel’s enthusiasm and passion for his art was contagious and inspirational. The children had a wonderful time and they were kept moving and engaged for the entire 2 days. I would definitely recommend this workshop to anyone wishing to immerse children in a rich cultural experience. Thank you Nathaniel we had a blast! – Leanne Jones, Acting Principal, Marlborough State School
Our students had a wonderful time and we would love to book you again for next years camp; – Tylene Thompson, Mountain Creek State High School
We loved it. Nathaniel was excellent and was able to connect the learning for the children in a very age-appropriate way. Some of the references to culture (Africa) fitted very well along with some numeracy and literacy. The actual musical experience was great in teaching children how the instruments work and how to respect the instruments. We loved how some of our children really show their leadership and connection to music that we might not otherwise see; – Julie Donald, Mount Warren
“We recently held a series of drumming workshops for kids at The J and Lake Kawana Community Centre during the Christmas holidays. The kids had a great time learning about the drums and playing them, and quite a few of the parents thought it was so much fun, they decided to join in as well. Nathaniel is a great musician and presented the workshops really well. Rhythm Culture will be presenting more workshops at the venues in the next school holidays.” – Anita Freed, Performing Arts Curator, Sunshine Coast Regional Council
Our children enjoyed a fabulous learning experience with Rhythm Culture. Children gained knowledge of the significance of drumming in various community cultures. It was fabulous watching children intently listen to drumming instruction and reciprocate rhythms. Children were thrilled to be able to work as a team to produce various rhythms; – Tamara, OSHC, Immanuel Lutheran College
The team was engaging and the audience obviously loved it. It was fantastic to see!!!! I was so worried that they might not respond, especially as many were Medical Professionals as well as country folk BUT THEY DID. Thank you; – Betti Chapelle, Medicare Local, Darling Downs
We engaged Rhythm Culture Drumming to deliver two workshops at Nambour Civic Centre during the school holidays. The workshops were fantastic and well presented. They were targeted at the relevant age groups and delivered in a professional and fun way. The facilitator, Nathaniel, was extremely professional and great at what he does. I would recommend Rhythm Culture to
anyone looking to deliver this type of activity; – Tim McGee, Venue Coordinator, Nambour Civic Centre, Sunshine Coast Council.
We loved the way the show engaged all children 100% of the time, they loved having their own individual drum!!Great balance between listening to various instruments and moving to beat of the music with instruments in hand and the enjoyment of being involved in some of the dances!! See you next year and thank you!!; – Marianna, Alexander Mooloolaba Kindergarten
Nathaniel did a great job with a difficult clientele (older people who were well and truly out of their comfort zone) Having said that many commented later that the workshop was the highlight of the whole day. If we receive funding again next year we will definitely be inviting Rhythm Culture back; – Sandra Webb, Field Officer, Canegrowers Isis
I have used Rhythm Culture a number of times over the years for community events involving children and families. When we get our feedback forms back asking what was their favourite part of the day, “the Drumming Workshop” is always high on the list. Thanks for sharing your positive energy and love of music with so many!; – Danielle Prickett, Early Childhood Worker
We had a great time, our guests really loved it! Especially loved handing out the drums and instruments to get people involved and dancing; – Kristen Ottaway, Inspired Living Events
Rhythm Culture were a welcomed addition to FESTURI multicultural festival. Rhythm Culture really made FESTURI a dynamic and vibrant event. We’ve had such overwhelmingly positive feedback from the drumming workshop, the procession and the community jam was wild! Cant wait to work with Rhythm Culture again, they are true professionals; – Zoe Scrogings, Artistic Director,
FESTURI
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and your team for providing us with the Drumming workshop during our recent camp. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the opportunity try something new. I have received a lot of great feedback about Nathaniel’s workshop and performance and I am happy to say that this activity was ranked the most enjoyable from all of our participants; – Crystal Heffron BPsyc Sci, Service Coordinator, Mental Illness Fellowship Queensland
I just wanted to pass on my thanks to you and Nathaniel for organising and providing such a wonderful drumming performance at our Woodford, Deception Bay and Caboolture sites. I unfortunately was unable to attend the shows due to other commitments, however, have received glowing reports from my staff. Please pass on my congratulations to Nathaniel for providing such great and engaging entertainment for our children and families. My staff have all commented on how much the children and families enjoyed the show and how delighted the children were; – Lisa Crawford, Early Childhood Manager, Caboolture Early Years Centre.
We are in search of visiting/touring performances and workshops all of the time and it is difficult to find affordable, quality experiences. My educators were particularly impressed with the level of interaction and it was certainly evident the kids enjoyed the activity. Thanks heaps and we look forward to you visiting again; – Kim Piper, PCYC
Rhythm Culture’s workshops were exciting, inspiring, and extremely well received. Nathaniel was adept at adjusting the content of the workshops to suit the audience, and clearly worked very hard through them all. Feedback from customers and staff was overwhelmingly positive. We look forward to hosting further workshops by Rhythm Culture in the future; – Donna Kellion, Mackay Libraries
Thanks to Rhythm Culture for a wonderful workshop this morning! Highly recommend for anyone with lots of energy who like to make a bit of noise! Fabulous array of djembe’s and other interesting instruments and activities kept the kids busy and happy; – Little Musos, The J Noosa
After my drummimg lessons with Nathaniel all the way home. A very patient, tolerant & understanding teacher and great with the kids too! Love it so much that now four of my clients attend the 10 wk course. I bought my djembe recently off Nathaniel and he helped me in
every way possible. What great fun!!! – Denise Curry, Red Faery Hair, Woodford
Great chance to meet new people in a friendly, fun, relaxed atmosphere whilst learning new thingst; – Caroline Mcdonald, Mapleton
Nathaniel is a great teacher who has a relaxed yet focussed approach to teaching. He always brings fun and lightness to his classes. He is very approachable and takes great care and patience to impart the rhythms to his class. I've thoroughly enjoyed learning drumming from him; – Sudeshana Brough, Maleny
I really appreciated your style of teaching and the way you managed to get such a large group involved in a way that was inclusive of everyone’s ideas and embraced their creative input. It’s hard to find teaching artists in this area that have these qualities and are also knowledgeable in their field and can find ways to work effectively with the kids to produce an original and inclusive performance outcome;- Kathleen Mitchell, Program Coordinator – The Song Room
Nathaniel provides exciting and innovative performing arts programs for refugee and migrant young people. His African drumming sessions are lively, colourful and full of enthusiasm. It is magical to see Nathaniel’s drumming bring youths from different cultures to sing and dance. Nathaniel has a special way of connecting with young people and his popularity is seen by the large exciting sessions he runs; – Diana Nguyen, Acting Coordinator – Southern Ethnic Advisory and Advocacy Council (SEAAC)
