Africa Day Festival May 31st 2015

Another awesome event happening very soon and we hope to make it along this year! Here is the event info and the Facebook event link where you can find out this and more info:

“Africa Day Festival is our signature event on the lawns of African House

Come experience rich and colourful African cultures at the Africa Day Festival

The festival showcases African art, clothing, dance, music and food, with activities for kids. There are also workshops on African drumming and many more.

Festival goers can enjoy lunch at the food marquees, browse the many stalls with African inspired items. Then stay for the fantastic traditional performances on stage before having a drink at our bar to close out the day.

This is an opportunity to bring together African communities to celebrate our cultures with each other and the rest of the community. Everyone is welcome at this free event – we want to see many colourful faces on the day.

Over 7,000 people attend the festival, now in its seventh year. The festival has great participation from across African communities, businesses and performers.

The festival is supported by the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council as major sponsors.”
