right here on the Sunshine Coast. June 27th will be a day for the lil’ ones. Rhythm Culture’s Nathaniel Combs will be providing a school holiday workshop for children of the Sunshine Coast. This workshop will be a one off event and will have your little ones making music, getting physical and accessing their individual creativity. Creating musical sounds with the ancient West African drum, the Djembe will be the focus for this workshop and children of all ages will be drumming, singing and dancing. “Rhythm Culture provides school workshops & holiday programs for students of all ages. Each student will have a drum and the the opportunity to engage with those around through traditional West African rhythm, song and dance. These workshops inspire and create a greater sense of community. Rhythm Culture provides a musical and cultural experience for the students of Queensland and introduces an indigenous art practised by many ethnic and western people all over the world. Nathaniel Combs will share his stories of living and studying with master musicians and ballets in West Africa, along with his knowledge of traditional song and language inFrench, Malinke and Susu. These interactive workshops are truely a unique and authentic way to bring students together through music, story and song. Rhythm Culture currently provides workshops for councils, schools, Active After School Care and youth and disability organisations all over QLD.
