OUR AFRICAN DRUMMING MISSION
Rhythm Culture provides African drumming incursions and dancing incursions to primary schools, high schools, kindergartens, early learning child care centres and vacation care centres in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and the Sunshine Coast. Our Drum Sing Dance Program, drumming incursions and dancing incursions focus on traditional West African rhythms from Mali, Guinea, Ghana and Senegal. Our classes, incursions, courses and workshops are fun, high energy and action packed.
Our knowledge of West African drum and dance is constantly expanding due to our strong connections with teachers all over the world. Our professional artists are engaged in continuous study and training with these teachers. We endeavour to stay true to the culture as much as possible by ensuring that content for all incursions, workshops and classes incorporate the correct calls, ensemble parts and dance moves to each rhythm.

Why does this matter? It is a complex and detailed culture and we aim to teach these rhythms the way we were taught. Djembe is a deeply profound instrument and has respect all over the world. We dedicate our work and study into sharing not only this beautiful rich culture, but the rhythms and dances from Master West African drummers and dancers all over the world.
What do we do differently? We teach drumming, singing and dancing! Immerse your students with our Drum Sing Dance programs.
What do we hope to achieve? We hope to introduce West African music, rhythms and dances to Australian’s through drum and dance camps where we host African artists, workshops and educational African drumming and dancing school incursions. Our intention is to contribute in growing the West African Djembe culture in Australia.

African Drumming Classes
West African drumming classes occur weekly on the Sunshine Coast. Open classes cater for all levels. Every ten weeks students perform at the local Drum, Dinner Dance event.
