Drum Sing Dance Programs

Rhythm Culture provides educational workshops for students of all ages. These workshops are specifically designed to inspire and create a greater sense of community. Each student will have a drum and the the opportunity to engage with those around through traditional West African rhythm, song and dance. Rhythm Culture provides a musical and cultural experience for the students of Queensland and introduces an indigenous art practised by many ethnic and western people all over the world. Nathaniel Combs will share his stories of living and studying with master musicians and ballets in West Africa, along with his knowledge of traditional song and language in French, Malinke and Susu. These interactive workshops are truely a unique and authentic way to bring students together through music, story and song. Rhythm Culture currently provides workshops for councils, schools, Active After School Care and youth and disability organisations all over QLD. All workshops include drum hire, costume and facilitation. We are currently taking bookings for 2012. Please contact us for more information.

Community, Disability and Youth Workshops

Rhythm Culture provides a variety of workshops catering for youth, community groups, people with special needs and requirements and individuals from all different backgrounds. We firmly believe in the philosophy of see the person not the disability, and we strive for full participation in every workshop we do. The nature of West African drumming creates an environment in which these individuals become connected and interact with one another in a creative and musical setting. Rhythm Culture facilitates this exchange and shared experience that everyone is participating in and we have had an outstanding response from communities that engage in these programs.
