What really goes on in our drumming classes

If you are an evening stroller, enjoying the fresh air and clear, calming sunsets and happen to be in Palmwoods on a Tuesday night you may find your hips starting to swing a little more and your step stretch into a dance as you approach the Memorial Hall.  That’s not thunder your hearing, or Zumba their moving….open the door and take a peek – what is going on in this tranquil little town?!

Like Angelica Sprocket’s pockets there is surprises galore, and Palmwoods is a pocket full of drum and dance. If you come in and take a peek you will see drumming, dancing, sweating, smiling and laughing. Confused faces, focused faces, eyes wide, bodies moving, ten drums sounding as one (most of the time), and then chaos and laughter again. Sounds of thunder, heat like a fire, rhythm as melody. “So what is really going on?” the evening stroller may ask…..

This month we have informally researched and compiled our best interpretation of what really happens based on body language, our own experience, and the universal drummers encyclopedia of facial expressions.  It’s funny, it’s real and well… it’s time specific. And if it makes Tuesday nights in Palmwoods sound irresistible….it’s because they are! We also get up close and personal with articles that inspire you, make your bum tickle, your pelvic floor strengthen and 10 awesome reasons to start drumming and dancing with us!  The next Saturplay is July 25th where community can get together. Bring your instruments, friends, play drums ,dance, sing, eat cake, drink Chai, have dinner, or a romantic cheese platter, All welcome!
