Highlife hits the stage with African Star from Mali
HighLife – an Afro, funk infused psychedelic, groove group with South African Singer and guitarist Hayden Hack and his 6-piece afro groove family. Sharing a vibe with the likes of Fela Kuti and with the incorporation of West African percussion, saxophone, flute, guitar and drums, this act is guaranteed to have the dance floor pumping.
The band, well known by the East Coast of Australia has two Eps and a recent release of their debut album “The Colour of..” under their former name Hayden Hack Infusion.
They are renowned for their live performances and have shared the stage with the likes of Natalie Rize (Blue King Brown) & Notis (Jamaica), Wild Marmalade, Kooii, Kingfisha, Ash Grunwald and Afro-Dizzi Act and captivated audiences at Woodford Folk Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Island Vibe and Kuranda Roots amongst many more.
Highlife will be performing LIVE and with special guest Bassidi Koné from Mali, West Africa this July 23rd @ The Palmwoods Memorial Hall as part of the Afro Foli Festival. There will be African street food, numerous acts and loads of drum and dance workshops throughout the day.
