African drumming for kids

So, 2015 is just around the corner and we are hoping to get a regular kids class happening after school in Palmwoods. Over the past year we have had lots of you ask about kids classes and so far we have only had the drum sing dance workshops or private tuition as an option. Kids African drumming will be similar to the adults classes in that the program will be based around traditional West African rhythm, story and song. The classes will be focusing on activating your child’s left and right side of the brain, allowing them to get creative and confident in a community setting and of course having lots of fun with games around music. We believe that children can always have more fun and after a day of focused learning at school, we figure that an hour of music making and body shaking will be essential and exciting during their school week.  Why wait until holidays for fun!? So these classes will run with the school term and include lots of instruments and of course every child will get to beat their hands on their own drum. There is limited number of spots available and courses are booked for each term in 5 week blocks.
